One of the biggest mistakes made in the management of dogs with atopic dermatitis is the failure to utilize topical therapy. Using appropriate topical therapy can help repair the skin barrier, reduce the relapse rate of pyoderma, and in some cases, add to the reduction of itch seen with the use of systemic medication.

Bathing with antiseptic shampoos removes the vast majority of pathogens; dogs look better, feel better, and smell better quickly. To augment bathing, the use of mousses, sprays, and wipes can help keep antimicrobial activity on the skin daily.  Lastly, barrier repair lipid spot-ons are easy to use and can contribute to improved outcomes, leading to client satisfaction.

Durng this webinar, we will talk about implementing topical therapy in the management of this lifelong inflammatory disease. Do not miss!
